Introduction (18 Jan 07): I am an engineer by profession and have been interested in science my whole life. In particular, I enjoy studying advanced physics at my own pace (which is very slow indeed). So it may be surprising that I started this page on science much later than the rest of the website. The reason is that I'd prefer to study physics sytematically from textbooks rather than by perusing the web, otherwise it just doesn't make sense. There are only so many hours of free time in a day, so between surfing the web for politics and reading a few pages of physics, there is little time left to examine general science news stories. Hence, this page will likely remain quite skimpy and serves only to record articles that I bumped into and found particularly interesting.
Note that I have a section on genetics and human behavior on my Human Behavior page, so some interesting genetics articles may appear there without making it over here. Also note that I have a whole page devoted to Global Warming, about which I am a skeptic.
For some time, I have been a regular follower of the high-spirited blog by physicist Lubos Motl of Harvard University. I have read many interesting and controversial posts there, some of which will be noted here as time permits.
A few good science blogs can be found on my Links page.
